About Alibi Squares: Murder Mystery Logic Puzzles
Welcome to Gullhaven, a quiet seaside town where something dreadful keeps happening. In each of these 60 cozy murder mysteries, Inspector Ada Quill and her basset hound, Biscuit, need your help to work out exactly where everyone was standing. One person was alone with the victim, and that person did it.
Every case is a floor plan and a handful of suspects, each with one clue, such as "Mabel was sitting on a chair" or "Ned was next to a plant". Place everyone so there is one person in each row and each column, and the murderer has nowhere to hide. No math and no guessing, just careful reasoning.
There are five levels: 4 training cases (5 × 5), 14 easy (6 × 6), 20 medium (7 × 7), 14 hard (8 × 8) and 8 expert (9 × 9). Every case has exactly one answer, checked by independent computer solvers, and can be solved by reasoning alone. Nothing violent is shown: the victim is simply a question mark.
